Bird’s Love is excited to announce the expansion of its editing services in hopes of helping children’s picture book authors take the next step in their writing journey: the editing process.
Bird’s Love’s current editing services include copy editing manuscripts and providing authors with brief comments and suggestions about their story. Beginning Tuesday, November 27, 2018, children’s picture book authors will receive a much more thorough review of their writing.
“As an author and editor, I know how difficult it is to find someone to edit and provide constructive feedback before the illustration process begins,” said Starr T. Balmer, owner of Bird’s Love and author of Scary, Scary Sasha. “I believe the editing and review process is crucial to every author’s journey. Because of this, I wanted to provide services that every author will need.”
Its new editing services include the following:
Consultation: Authors will be able to chat with the editor for 30 minutes via phone about their story, plot ideas, story development, the self-publishing industry, etc.
In-Depth Editing: Bird’s Love will provide copy editing and developmental editing on every manuscript, along with extensive editorial feedback.
Reviews: Three reviewers – a mix of teachers, parents, and children’s book enthusiasts – will read each manuscript and provide fair and objective critiques of each manuscript.
Bird’s Love will continue to provide general editing services for blogs, websites, resumes, cover letters, brochures, and more.
